Ma Laus from Overseas

During the course of last week, I've managed to meet 3 dearest friends, who have left or soon would be leaving Singapore for the next stage of their lives. One of them was Pasha, who's off to US for an internship.
The other two was Junfu (Xiao Cai), and Ken (Ma Lau)

This was during Junfu's commencement ceremony. He usually has a face, that seems to be looking for a beating, but I think he looked surprisingly decent in this one. Aside for coming in tops in his class, he was awarded a medallion for his academic achievements. Unfortunately, there was no prize money along with it....."@#!#$!@@!#$$!%!@$%" was his response to that.

Junfu with Hailu, one of his close friends.

One of our NUS choir chums, Denise, got married this week. Ken (far right) flew all the way down from Hongkong for the weekend, just to be part of the choir for the wedding. Man! Amazing, this Ma Lau (monkey in cantonese). =) Was great to do silly things with him again....no matter how I try to grow up, I somehow get reduced into my 18-year-old self whenever he's in proximity.

Us trying to drink rainwater.

This was the NUS Choir that participate in Denise's wedding. We just blasted our hearts out in blessing for our friend, without having to worry about pitching, chording, rhythm, phrasing yada yada yada.....=)

From left to right: Janice, Liu Chang, Huaizhi (another Ma Lau), Yuyan, Iris.

Too bad I didn't manage to get a pic of Pasha before he flew off. But he's googleable. =) Have fun in the US you!
